What is Feather Touch/Microblading?
A Feather Touch Brow (Microblading) is a semi-permanent natural looking brow tattoo that resembles hair stokes. Microblading is perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps or fill in over plucked brows. Unlike traditional block colour eyebrow tattooing, microblading looks extremely natural as we add individual strokes to the brow. High quality pigments are inserted into the skin using a hand tool to create the desired effect.
What does the Treatment involve?
All clients require a consultation prior to their treatment to ensure they are a suitable candidate. They have their questions answered and brow transformation discussed during this appointment. Feather Touch Brows require 2 appointments each 1.5 hours. Therefore, a total of 3 hours is required for a professional Feather Touch Brow. The two appointments (4-6 weeks apart) ensure the depth and definition of the Feather Touch Brow is of the highest possible standard.
Is the procedure painful?
Topical Anaesthetics are used prior to the treatment to numb the area completely. There are continuous applications throughout the treatment to make the process as comfortable as possible. The brows maybe slightly red and swollen and sting for an hour or so after the treatment.
How many treatments are needed?
A beautifully designed Feather-Touch Brow requires two appointments. The entire process lasting 1.5 hours and is repeated in 4 to 6 weeks from initial appointment to give the brow a beautiful definition and depth. The skin needs to be fully healed before the second appointment. On the rare occasion a third and final appointment may be required for oily or aged skin that may not hold the pigment as well.
What is the aftercare and maintenance?
An emollient cream must be used 3-4 times a day to keep the brows moist for successful healing and to prevent scabbing. No make-up, soap or cleansers can and be used on the brows for 5 days. Exercise should be avoided the day of your procedure and no sweating, saunas, hot tubs or steam rooms for 5 days after the treatment, as this may affect the results.
What type of pigments are used?
The pigments used are of the highest quality from the USA. They are specifically manufactured for the implanting into human skin. We choose the right pigment shade to suit your hair colour and skin tone. After the first procedure the colour will fade slightly as the skin heals. When you come for your second appointment we will gauge how the colour has healed on your specific skin and we will add the right shade of pigment accordingly to create the perfect brow for you.
Is there any down time after the treatment?
The brows may sting and be slightly swollen and red for the first few hours after the treatment. The brows will appear darker immediately after the treatment. This will settle down as the brows begin to heal. People can resume work the following day. A week after the treatment, once the pigment has settled into the skin, the brows begins to have a softer, lighter look. There may be some itching which is quite normal throughout the healing process. It is advised not to pick or scratch as this may affect the healing process and final colour
How often do I need to have a re-touch?
For younger active clients, their skin cells are renewing at a faster rate. As a result their brows will fade a little quicker. If so it may be necessary to have a colour enhancement anywhere from 6 months onwards. It is recommended for all other clients to have a colour enhancement between twelve and 18 months to ensure optimal results.
What will affect the longevity of the treatment?
Each skin is completely different and unique. Some can hold the pigment for longer than others, however if you are always outdoors in the sun, your brows will fade at a faster rate.

You may experience the following symptoms for the next few days.
These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process
DAILY CARE TO FOLLOW FOR 7 – 10 DAYS
Wipe over the brow with a damp cotton round 4 times a day for the first 48 hours after the procedure then apply a thin layer of bepanthen antiseptic cream. From then on no more wiping is required just the application of cream for the next 3 days for the best healing and colour retention. Apply with a cotton tip 3-4 times a day.
The area where the tattoo has been applied MUST BE KEPT MOIST for successful healing without thick scabbing.
DO NOT USE ANY OTHER PRODUCT ON THE TATTOOED AREA FOR 5 DAYS OR THE COLOUR CAN CHANGE.
Keep your hair away from your enhancement to prevent the possibility of infection
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Remember, your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined for up to 10 days after the application but as the healing process occurs the colour will soften and lighten and look more natural.
Some itching is normal. DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB your enhancement as the colour may heal unevenly and you could risk infection, which in turn could lead to scarring. Allow the colour to flake away by itself. Do not receive skincare or beauty treatments for 5 days after the application of your enhancement. No make-up should be applied close to your enhancement for 3 days.
The approximate healing period is 10-14 days, however healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, if you are generally stressed and by poor diet.
Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the retouch adjustment visit allowing us to find tunes your enhancement (within 12 weeks of initial treatment), however if you do not attend your scheduled re-touch appointment you will be charged for full price again for further treatments.
LONG TERM CARE:
Use a good sunscreen. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics.
Any chemicals of any kind could interfere with the bonding process. Any glycolic acid or peels must be kept away from the tattoo as it seems to lighten the colour with constant or continuous use. Microdermabrasion treatments will fade out brow tattoo.
We recommend brows be maintained 12-18 months to keep them looking amazing!

During your first appointment, your desired brow shape and colour will be mapped out and created. Fine hair strokes and or shading will be added to your brow to give shape, definition and fullness.
TOUCH-UP APPOINTMENT - $200
As a perfect Feather Touch Brow requires 2 appointments, the second perfection visit touch up 6-8 weeks later is absolutely necessary. As all skins are unique, this second appointments allows us to gauge how the ink has settled into the skin and adjust the colour and definition as needed.
EXTRA PERFECTION VISIT

A third appointment may be necessary but is optional, as a range of factors including, skin type, age, lifestyle, and sun exposure will affect the final result. This final appointment must be 4-6 weeks after the touch up otherwise a colour refresh price will be charged.

As the ink fades over time, most people will require a touch up every 12-24 months to keep their brows looking amazing. If it’s been longer than 24 months there may be little ink left in the skin, we will have to start again and therefore the initial price will be charged.

As many people have had their brows done elsewhere and are unhappy with the shape and colour, I do offer to refresh old tattooed brows. It is however much harder to correct or perfect someone else’s work and multiple appointments maybe necessary.
